It asks to Flash a recovery image onto your device by typing fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-suzuran.img
Under ‘Downloads for the suzuran’ there seems to be 3 options for a custom recovery:
Option 1) The ‘TWRP’ link https://dl.twrp.me/suzuran
The link goes to a 404.
I read on xda forum that the maintainer of unofficial-10-q-lineageos-17-1-for-z5c-suzuran (from which the /e/ version is derived …I believe) recommends using TWRP 3.2.1.
Which is available from twrp.me as twrp-3.2.1-0-twrp.img
No need to apologise, hopefully I’ll learn enough soon to be able to help with the docs.
Deivce is en route from ebay UK … have noted your very handy tip on xda about running tests using *#*#7378423#*#* before unlocking and flashing so as not to void a refund if it is faulty.
I am delighted to say I have successfully flashed my first phone and /e/ is running perfectly. Thank you for your part in getting a decent compact phone like the Z5C on /e/.
Big thank you to the /e/ team
Until recently (late 2020/early 2021) there were issues getting the camera working properly on Lineage for the Z5C, this has been resolved. I can confirm that the camera (main and selfie) work as expected, with image resolution of 3840x2160px from the main camera.
I made a bunch of notes from my install, I would like to post them here in case other beginners want to do the same for a Z5C. Although they do need an experienced person to check over them, I got a bit lost at part E and F, where I think using “adb reboot recovery” might have made more sense than unplugging and plugging in the phone.
I agree. @mike_from_ireland thanks for the guide. As a first step I have moved the post to the Documentation Suggestions section part for the z3c . It has also been marked as a wiki which will make it easy for you to make any modification or edits to the post.
There are some changes being made to the Documentation site by a web developer. Will wait for it to be over before adding from this guide.
