Current App lounge problems

App lounge is the stock app that still gives me the most issues.

In passing I’ve read about some that other users have also reported but didn’t see a solution for and I’m not sure about what their current status is. My apologies if I’ve missed current information and (some) of my reports are redundant.

Current problems as of 3.6-a15-20260312593772-official-FP6:

  1. I’ve created a dummy google account and sometimes the session seems to freeze pertaining the apps of the default store. The database can be searched, but the apps can’t be found when clicking on them. Open source and/or fdroid apps remain accessible. Rebooting doesn’t help. Logging out and using an anonymous session does, but in my experience that mode usually causes more issues later on and after some time I will have to kill app lounge for it to load again.
  2. Fdroid apps download fine but won’t install for some reason. (For example xearth) Used session doesn’t seem to matter.

App Lounge in e-3.6-a15 improved for me but may require Clear app storage to get a fresh start.

Settings > Apps > See all apps > App Lounge > Storage & cache > Clear storage

The above advice (and more simple advice like log out and log in again) is seen in the app itself; App Lounge > Settings page has this link showing in red as “Having troubles?” App Lounge FAQ.

If at first the problem persists be sure to take the advice to try later, like two to twelve hours later and have the phone fully charged as battery below a certain level is known to hinder or prevent download.

With the previous and current version ( 3.7-a15-20260410607089-official-FP6 ) the first part is also solved for me after clearing the cache and storage. Anonymous mode now also appears to be stable.

The second part ( installing fdroid apps ) remains unresolved for me, however. Other open source apps install fine, such as Wikipedia.

I also cannot install xearth from App Lounge. Using https://f-droid.org/ however, I find “No compatible version for this device”. One can change F-Droid settings to show incompatible versions, bit still no show for xearth.

Here, Aurora store does however find and install xearth.
