[CUSTOM BUILD] Motorola Moto G 2014 (titan)

I made an update for this device, enjoy  :

e-0.9-n-20200711-CUSTOM-ptitan.zip
TWRP : https://dl.twrp.me/titan/

Note : this is a custom build and not an unofficial build because the system partition is too small to have all the system apps in it (that’s why this device doesn’t receive official updates anymore).
Magic Earth, Pdf Viewer Plus and LibreOffice Viewer have been removed. Hopefully, you can easily download those apps thanks to the built-in /e/ Apps Installer. Search them and install them.
The only difference is that they will be user apps instead of system apps.

Don’t forget to backup and share your experience, thanks

When I installed https://images.ecloud.global/dev/titan/e-0.7-n-2020031345025-dev-titan.zip yesterday, I had not yet been aware of this thread. So now I have a Motorola G2 2014 with /e/ already installed, yet with an outdated version.

Besides a big “thank you” for providing builds for this ancient device, I have a few questions:

  • How would I update to this unofficial build? Just install the zip file in TWRP?
  • Would I have to wipe the system partition before installing?
  • Will the data partition be erased in the process?
  • And finally: do you plan to provide further upgrades in the future?

Cheers

Ok, up to now, I am very satisfied. With the original OS, the phone had become incredibly slow and had frequent malfunctions. With your custom build, the phone has been revived. Thanks, great work!

For the record: I had to wipe not only the system partition but also the data partition (which had already been populated by the latest (ancient) official /e/ build for titan).

Cheers

And yet another hint: I had to dial the sequence documented in https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/740#issuecomment-479252876 in order to get GCM working correctly. Before that, apps had not been able to register with GCM.
