Cyclic Reboot and Advanced Privacy Error After Reboot on /e/OS 3.0

Issue: /e/OS 3.0

After rebooting, an additional window appears asking to “Confirm device password.” This window can be dismissed by swiping from the right edge of the screen. After that, an error related to Advanced Privacy appears, indicating a configuration error. If I stop or wait, the phone goes into an automatic reboot and then enters recovery mode, and this cycle repeats continuously.

I work around this problem by quickly tapping the screen right after entering the password to skip the Advanced Privacy error message; otherwise, the phone reboots again. However, after these actions, the search bar in the phone settings freezes, meaning I cannot enter any text when tapping on it.

I could downgrade back to version 2.9, but I prefer not to. I hope there are no issues with Orbot in Advanced Privacy.

It is unlikely that my phone has been hacked or is being targeted, since these problems did not occur in version 2.9. The phone reboots daily, and I never encountered such issues before. Maybe this is related to a new “Find My Device” feature, or perhaps something worse?

I can also add that the program repeatedly requesting the password seems to be a system app (at least it appears so) since it activates before the system is unlocked.

As a first step you might try

Settings > Apps and notifications > See all … apps > 3 dot menu top right > Show system > Advanced Privacy > Storage & cache > Clear storage | Clear cache

Clear cache may help … if no improvement I would try Clear storage.

Clear storage is the removal of the app’s data this will particularly remove the history of trackers blocked etc. Possibly it would also return to default some Advanced Privacy settings like say fake location.

As you mention Search bar, I would use exactly the same technique on Bliss Launcher. Again, the more aggressive Clear storage will cause all you icons to return to default (alphabetical) positions.
