Deutsche Bahn plans to equip several thousands of employees with Fairphones

The ‘news’ is already a month old but still worth to share. The German Railway (Deutsche Bahn) plans to equip a part if its staff with Fairphones (FP4). Probably it makes sense to have an easy to service phone to be handed out to employees, instead of phone models that are complicated to repair. I imagine, even financially, it makes sense to opt for FPs. According to the article (link) that is in German, a first batch of some hundreds of phones was delivered in January and now they expect to receive several thousands more are to come.

Hopefully, this example inspires many other larger and smaller companies to follow - and in time, even Fairphones with /e/OS pre-installed Let’s see…

We would wish so, and well done to them in earnest.
As the quota cynic on duty, however, I expect in reality Deutsche Bahn gets a few nice press releases out of this how eco and progressive they are, and Fairphone can clear remaining Fairphone 4 stock considerably … which also might not be so bad.
