Developer options not available on Pixel 8 / E/OS 4 - cannot roll back to correct settings

Hi, Job and relatively newby here. I installed E/OS 4 on my Pixel 8 via the web installer. Stupid enough I did not reset the Pixel before doing this and my pincode cannot be changed now, due to the old settings. Digging further found out that I’d better reinstall the Pixel stock rom and reset everything and then reinstall E/OS.

To do the rollback I need to have access to the Developer options. I have access (7 times tapped), but that is all. The app stops everytime If I want to make a change. I found this link:

https://community.e.foundation/t/developer-options-unavailable/79944/7

But the solution there does not work for me as it is not clear how they fix the blocked access to the Developer options.

Anyone who can help me with this one? All thoughts appreciated.

So just to clarify … was really that you left a Google account on the phone? So that now you are suffering from Factory Reset Protection? … or perhaps not this?

Did you read on to Developer options unavailable - #18 by aibd? … not your issue?

Hi, no Developer options unavailable - #18 by aibd was not my issue. Before flashing my Pixel 8 I forgot to remove the password and to reset the device. My workaround was the following:

I got a full working Pixel 8 on E/OS now. Some apps do not work, for legal reasons. And the Esim function does not work properly for calls and texts. Data works. But that seems to be a known issue.
