Device request : Lenovo Tab M11 (model TB330FU)

Hi,
I can’t see the Lenovo Tab M11 among the suggested devices, so here it comes

Before a dedicated ROM, could someone tell me whether any alternative exists ? …e.g. using e/OS/ build for Lenovo Tab M10, which should be quite similar ? or any Lenovo-generic build ?

Regards,
JC

there’s this prior request

as there is no dedicated image, you could try a GSI (generic system image). An update to the official version is still in the works, but users have a go at it themselves, see the gsi tag - Topics tagged gsi

@jcbss Lenovo Tab M11
TB330FU | Mediatek MT6769H Helio G88

My Android Tablet with MediaTek MT6789 Helio G99 SoC supports Project Treble (arm64 / A/B-Device / Seamless Upgrades / Dynamic Partitions) and runs perfectly with iodéOS GSI 5.8 (A14) including OTA update support.

As long as no comparable /e/OS-T (U) GSI is available, the iodéOS GSI is an excellent alternative.

Thank you, it seems good !
I have the Lenovo Tab M11 TB330FU
MediaTek Helio G88

It is not exactly the same, do you think it should work ?

I am willing to try a GSI on this tablet but I have never done this before, and have several questions :

  • There are several tutorials here, which one is the best for a beginner?
  • If it doesn’t work, is it possible to get back to the basic android-googled OS, and how?
  • ‘‘Brick’’ does mean that the tablet is dead or is there a way to go back ?
  • Should the the pen and keyboard work just the same or may there be bad surprises?
  • I read that Linux Mint is required, but I am on Ubuntu, is it ok ?

Thanks a lot

I’ve it running on various MediaTek devices. You can find brief instructions here in the forum. Hints can be found with th/e/ forum search function (top right - magnifying glass).

My recommendation is: You shouldn’t just throw yourself into the fray at random, but first acquire basic Treble GSI knowledge so that you understand what you’re doing.

That is nonsense. You can use all Linux derivatives as well as Windows.
