I used the eOS email app for a few weeks after buying my Fairphone 6.
Then I installed a different email client.
I deleted the accounts from the Mail app, cleared the cache and deleted the data.
To my surprise, after a few days, the app started sending me notifications again and my accounts reappeared.
What should I do?

Background sync needs turned off too.
Settings > Accounts > your_named_murena.io_account > … here ensure Automatic sync app data is toggled on
then continue to
Settings > Accounts > `your_named_murena_account > Account sync > Mail, turn off toggle.
