Disable front camera cutout/punch hole space

Hi,
I read that other devices/android distributions support this:
https://en-in.support.motorola.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/160691/~/show-apps-in-full-screen---motorola-edge-20-pro
or
https://www.reddit.com/r/kodi/comments/1474yta/comment/jnwymzd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button.

In the developer settings i can set the “display cutout” to some default choices. But there don’t seem to be the possibility to turn it off ether globally nor app-wise.
Am i missing something? Is this intentional?
Because the cutout seems to apply also for connected external displays (even with enforced desktop mode), which leads to ugly unused screen space.
I would love to use my apps in full screen on external displays.
I am currently using /e/ version 1.17-t-20231109350751-stable on a FP5.

Thanks in advance!
