I just installed e/OS IMG-e-3.4-a15-20260114569178-official-FP5 on my Fairphone 5 and am trying to set up the screen lock. No matter what I try — pattern, PIN, password — it is not saved when I finish entering it. If I deliberately enter the PIN or password incorrectly a second time, e/OS notices that it was wrong. But when I enter two times the same password or PIN it’s not saved.
Immediately after entering the same PIN or password twice, the dialog does not show the unlock option I entered. I have rebooted several times before and after setup. That doesn’t change anything either.
If you had a Google account on your device before flashing /e/OS on your own on it then it is locked with that security measure feom Google. You need to install stock again and reverse that.
If you didn’t flash yourself, ignore what I wrote.
Did you say whether you already locked the Bootloader? It is not clear from the reports of others but I suggest you take care with Unlock bootloader if this is required.
If unlocked, no, so long as you do not get involved in any locking … then any anti-rollback issue will be ignored.
You might check one or two threads with hashtag frp to see how others did this fix.
I have not locked the bootloader of my phone again. So this part of my question is irrelevant.
Thank you. I will do so.
In Android, reinstalled again, I will not enter a Google account and set display lock to disabled. SIM lock is unknown for me. I don’t think it will be enabled in the new installed Android.
If the screen is unlocked in Android I will be able to lock it later in e/os with PIN or password?
Screenlock, apk installing, display lock the share button in apps, fingerprint - all misfunction is cured after adding and removing Google Account and the display lock as well as the SIM lock in Google Android and then reinstalling e/os.
