Do I delete data with manual upgrade

I have the Motorola G7 running 3.0.4-t-20250710507809-community-river. I need to upgrade to A15

If I use the following doc. Install /e/OS on a Motorola Moto G7 - “river”
Do I still have to delete data with this manual upgrade?

Having a senior moment on this thing.

i think you don’t need to delete the /data partition.
