"Downgrading Smartphones already on Android Q [...] can cause instability or at worst brick some devices."

Hey,

I am thinking about installing /e/ on my Samsung Galaxy S9+. The device is already on Android Q and I would like to ask why this specific warning is shown in the installation instructions? Is there an elevated risk of a bricked phone?

Kind Regards

Lordy

yes, on Samsung devices it is better don’t trying to downgrade.

you can try the eOS-Q-GSI from here CUSTOM BUILD - Android 10 (Q) eOS GSI -- new versions September 3rd

Thanks. I’ll have a look and decide, if I’m confident enough to install that much of a custom solution.

Do you know why Android Q complicates things? Asking out of curiosity.

It’s general on Samsung that downgrading fails. Has nothing to do with Q
