They said it would be somewhere mid January/early 2022.

Today is the big bang…:+1:

Not to spoil the fun but you could also interpret that post as that just the documentation will be online today.

the Headline says “beta”
the link to the ROM says stable: IMG-e-0.21-r-20220112156786-stable-FP4.zip
so, it´s a “stable beta”

yes I noticed the 0.21 in the link and in the post before they said the phones shipped with 0.20.
And then you check the release notes and it only goes up to 0.20 I’m confused now.

So I just tried the install and after its done it one time boots the E logo and then gets back to the bootloader. After that it directly boots in to the boot loader.
I would like to create an issue but I’m not allow to create a git account for it and my forum login does not work.
Any ideas on both of those problems?

I am already stuck with unlocking the bootloader. Does it work without a SIM card? I generated the unlocking code but it does not work.

Hi and welcome to the forum, pxcask.

That topic is about the release date. If you need assistance you should create a new topic in the Setup category.

But it seems someone already has a similar problem, so you might just want to continue in Install /e/ OS on FP4

hey pxcask,
yes, you can install it without a sim card I´ve done it and it worked.
what exactly did not work? And what was the error Message?

You have to change the active slot with fastboot command. Then it works
Had the same problem
Switched from slot b to a and then it booted

Thanks a lot
What is the command to do that please ?

fastboot --set-active=a
Or

fastboot --set-active=b

The current active can be seen in recovery mode

dears, to avoid redundancy, let’s move here

So where do I express my appreciation? It seems to work like a charm…
