Continuing the discussion from Week 23, 2022: Development and Testing Updates:

For Pie, Oreo and Nougat the official support draws to a close.

Reasons for dropping official support are:

• newly released applications like App Lounge, Advanced privacy code has not been customized for these OS versions.
• lack of dedicated ROM Maintainers
• no support upstream (Lineage dropped support for Pie sometime back)
• device trees will continue to exist in the Gitlab and users with build skills can create custom ROMs on these builds
• To confirm if the security and vendor patches for these operating system will still get updated on these device trees.

Nice to have these bold features but would gladly live without them in an unofficial build if that could be achieved easier

PS: As I learned unofficial builds have to be more official or way more unofficial ;- )

Source code can be modified only to reach full support on the target device.
/e/OS features, list of installed apps etc. shouldn’t be modified
