I wanted to change the OS of my newly acquired Shiftphone8 to e.os and I ran through the intstaller. Unfortunately, the phone was left with the bug that when the screen is locked (after successfully booting) for the first time, the display stays black and can only be reactivated by forcing a reboot.
I did the installation “manually” again after resetting to shift-os-g but the problem remains. I’m a total beginner and have made my way so far only with the help of ai assistance.
it seems like this is a known issue with the current version of e-3.7.3-a14-20260506618662 and I’m wondering if I did something wrong or if it’s a bug that needs to be fixed.
