I don’t know, it does look like one.

I mean your title implies it is from staff like Manoj. That’s what I meant.

His article sounds a bit like marketing speak.

I’m not a big phone user, typically less than an hour a day. Most of the new features he’s talking about will not have much benefit for me. However, “find my phone” is a big one. The Murena Workspace and sync is also a big one for me. He only mentioned the addition of business services, but if that includes general improvements then it’s welcome.

I hope the focus is on better tools for the cloud, not just buisness-applications. Mail and Tasks are borderline usless/buggy (for example, mail keeps switching to @murena instead of @e.email which has confused a lot of my recipients) and don’t have many useful features. Calender is kind of the same - sometimes buggy, isn’t reactive and lacks features. Contacts is confusing, and why are we in need of a separate search engine? Qwant, Startpage, Brave search, DuckDuckGo exist.
The Gallery app on the phone is buggy and shows images in the wrong order, Sync fails at least once a week, App Lounge has trouble connecting quite often and cannot update apps.

I feel like e-foundation or murena (whatever is suited better) should focus more on security (timely security updates) and application-usability before trying to include a LOT of new features. It feels like they always try something new instead of fleshing out existing stuff or replacing it with better software. For example MDM and Buisness is not something a majority will benefit from. My thought was that Murena should have a lot of money from the fundraising or is this wrong and they try to appeal to buisnesses for a better source of income? Feels a bit… difficult since the cloud wasn’t usable for months and the past communication skills have not been very assuring.

I was thinking of using the cloud for my teams but there are a lot of things currently and in the past going wrong that I switched to proton - which I feel like murena has no chance of beating so they should rather focus on what is currently in need - an actually good operating system that values privacy and security - not just privacy (because it cannot fully exist without security).

I hope they shift the focus on improving existing stuff and not always trying to produce new stuff. The desktop-application is an example of this trend I have seen repeating over the years…

Yeah kind of bass akwards, but that’s marketing, advertise features regardless of how well they work. In the ideal world they would get things working right before adding features, but nobody actually operates that way. Welcome to modern software development.

Parental control enhancements are welcome. Would be good to see something around an AndroidAuto equivalent and improved localisation in particular on initial setup and keyboards. I am not using any of the Murena cloud stuff today.
