/e/os/ unsusable!

I just bought a Fairphone 6 running /e/OS. It’s unusable. The SIM card won’t connect to the network (Sunrise Switzerland). The card works fine on an iPhone or a standard Android device. It’s very frustrating. The only reason I decided to switch from iOS to Android was to be able to use an OS completely free of Google. So far, that promise hasn’t been kept. I have a brand-new phone that’s completely useless to me… This is the first time in decades that I’ve had this kind of problem with a phone. Unfortunately, /e/OS is absolutely not recommended.
I should note that the system won’t let me manually add an APN configuration.

I am assuming you purchased the device from the Murena store. You can send a mail to the help desk using the form available at Contact Us if not already done.
Share the details and the invoice number with the team and they should be able to help you on this.

No, I bought the Fairphone at a store in Switzerland and then installed the latest version of /e/OS myself.

So what you did actually ?

Bonjour Julien,
J’ai installé /e/os : Fairphone 6 + /E/OS IMG-e-3.6-a15-20260312593772-official-FP6

User @Yogi apparently had the same problem, resolved by switching to a different carrier on the same major network.

P.S. There’s already a related issue regarding Sunrise and FP6 on github/Murena, as reported in this forum topic.

The end of the story. My Swiss Sunrise SIM card works everywhere except on my Fairphone 6 running /e/OS. Sunrise sent me a new SIM card. Now it works. I think there’s an incompatibility between certain SIM cards and the Fairphone or /e/OS.
