I have used lineageos from 14.1 to the recent 18.1 going through the updates. I have used /e/ for the past two years since I first heard about it and prefer /e/.
LineageOS has the advantage of weekly updates, but is very limited in the use of apps, unless you want to use a Google account and the playstore. I prefer /e/ without a Google account, only the e.foundation account and the excellent app store. I’ve had no trouble installing /e/ and appreciate the instructions and details, also the sale of devices with /e/ already installed. I’ve recommended to a number of friends and some have tried and switched to /e/.
