Email delays in receiving up to several minutes

Below is a part of the email source. At the beginning and the end of the paste are time signatures differing in about 8 minutes.

  • 09:04:34 -0700 (PDT)
  • 09:12:04 -0700 (PDT)

It is unlikely a difference in times on the servers. The email was told (by phone) to be sent and the reception had been delayed. Can anybody guess the source of the delay, please?

I have the same problem, but not several minutes but several tens of minutes :frowning:

Maybe greylisting ?

Shouldn’t be all the delivery attempts listed in the header?

Unless listed, the greylisting cannot be traced and it seems that the email had been just delayed on the receiving server.

Nope, greylisting operates at server level, you won’t find any info of attempts unless you can access the smtp servers logs.

Also, although many people consider email as a reliable service, there is no technical guarantee for delivery delay, or even that the message will be delivered at all.
