The default camera takes inferior quality images in low-light, compared to GCam mods. Very noisy and less detailed. GCam needs Camera2Api to be enabled.
I have tried enabling Camera2Api by manually editing build.prop but it didn’t work. Stuck in Legacy mode. Magisk modules didn’t even modify build.prop let alone work. Same for ADB commands.
Since Camera2Api either came enabled in custom ROMs or could be enabled manually, perhaps in this case it has to be set by default?
Nevermind. Got it working. Seems like I was flashing old Magisk modules and hence it wasn’t working.
Nevertheless it would be better if its enabled by default for users that aren’t rooted.
