🚀 eOS-installer v1.2 is out

:rocket: eOS-installer v1.2 is out

Highlights:
:locked: New anti-rollback check — blocks install before download if device SPL is newer than the build’s
:unlocked: Real bootloader-unlock verification before flashing (previously just trusted fastboot’s OKAY)
:locked_with_key: Post-flash relock now opt-in per device (independent AVB brick risk)
:bug: --set-active=a fixed (was silently discarded everywhere), oem reset-rollback correctly scoped to FP6, FP3 duplicate flash fixed
:mobile_phone: Pixel 4/4XL/4a + OnePlus 7/7T/8/8Pro: unblocked from a permanent update dead-end + bumped to newest Android base available

Validated on real hardware (FP3, FP4, FP5, FP6).

Great to see those improvements. This installer is a game changer for /e/ adoption.

it took me quite some time to find the full supported device list for the installer. It would be nice if you’d make it easier to find it. E.g. link to it on Gitlab and on forum posts for new release versions.

A basic guide on the installer is available. Will share details as part of the weekly updates. Will check where all it can be added.

A link to supported devices exists in the documentation page in the section

Hi Manoj,

probably an error in the device list for the Volla tablet compared to the shop specification.

It looks like the installer checks for the Android version instead of SPL date.
In my case, I could not use the webinstaller on a FP4 because it had A15 while /e/OS official is on A14.
Using the manual install script went fine though.

Pl can you specify what is the error.

Checked with the team behind the eOS-installer. This was the response

…We blocked several cases for avoiding any flash issues. Expert user can follow manual flash instead…

The team will work on removing these issues in subsequent builds.

On the device selector page is stated that the volla tablet has a removeable battery which is probably wrong except you consider heating it up with a hot air station or heating plate to open it up as removeable ;- )
