Dear all,
This morning, I took some photos with my smartphone (FP5, /e/OS 3.0.4) and asked the Camera app to include geolocation. The geolocation is correct, but the altitude inserted in the metadata is incorrect (error of about 50 m compared to the official altitude).
The problem is probably due to the fact that the altitude returned by the GPS sensor is not corrected using an Earth gravitational model (EGM), such as the EGM96.
Some applications, such as OsmAnd or GPS logger, can take such a model into account:
- OsmAnd: Altitude current location – Download World altitude correction
- BasicAirData GPS Logger : Manual Setup of the EGM Altitude Correction
I haven’t found a way to do the same with the Camera app. Did I miss the setting to enable, or is this not possible?
Thank you in advance for your answers,
Sébastien
