Error updating /e/os 2.7 to 2.8 on a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Hello everyone!

I’ve installed /eo/os on my tablet samsung s6 lite and I’m very happy of the new os.
Yesterday i saw the update 2.8, I download it but installing automatically the update I had an error before rebooting of the tablet. I attach the screenshot of the system. Perhaps I would have to make a manual installation of the update?.. Anything else?..
Thank you in advance

Hello Galeo,

On Releases · e / os / 🚀 Releases · GitLab shows for Samsung devices:
“Signature mismatch preventing sideload/OTA updates is now fixed”
My tablet is S6 Lite, gta4xlwifi, I encountered the same problem with OTA upgrade, so I started from scratch, i.e. re-install the tablet as it was under Samsung Firmware to install /e/OS for the first time:

  • Download both /e/OS and recovery new version 2.8;
  • Proceed to Download mode to flash recovery file;
  • Proceed to Recovery mode, then choose enable ADB;
  • Flash /e/OS;
  • Reboot the tablet.
    And now, everything would be back in order, in recovery mode, it shows well the current version is 2.8.
    I see in the screenshot, your tablet is gta4xl, I think that you can try/proceed without problems and hope that can help you and others in Community.

Kind regards.

Yes, I had the same problem and did the re-install today. It is very important to make sure the tablet does not reboot to the e… screen after flashing the recovery img file. That seems to stuff it up.

So, after flashing recovery, you have to cancel Download mode (power + vol down) and then very quickly do power + up vol to get into Recovery. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to re-flash recovery again. It took me a few times to get it to work.

I have a S10 with the same problem. Is it possible to just install the OS update without completely wiping and having to reinstall everything else on my phone? Thanks for your help!

Hi Iman,
As for S10, there are four different models and you didn’t specify the model. I invite you to take a look at Feedback for v2.8 - #2 by urs_lesse where the community is giving its feedback on the update.
On this page (post #3 and #4) where WillemR with his Samsung S10e reports the error encountered, then found a manipulation and managed to do the update successfully. Other users follow the trick and upgrade successfully.
Hope it helps you to update.
Kind regards.

Thanks Tien! That solved the problem also for my ‘regular’ Samsung Galaxy S10 model SM-G973F.

The solution is very quick and updates the OS version while keeping all my user data / apps.
