It is.
Should I precise that with my physical sim I can phone, send SMS and use Internet.
The main problem is only with esim.
And the other one is linked when physical we have sim and esim from 2 different providers. I red that when providers are the same, it is ok.
I’m hesitating to change my personal provider (i cannot change work’s one).
Same problem here. Started when I downloaded 2.6.3, but initially just couldn’t access mobile data. After trying to turn esim off then on, I couldn’t reactivate esim.
Erasing and reinstalling esim, as well as factory rebooting, didn’t fix the problem. I’m in US using Murena Mobile, so the problem can affect people on that carrier too.
@Manoj Do you have an ETA for when this issue will be fixed? I can see in the gitlab that it has been assigned to a developer and given a high priority. However my phone has been effectively unusable since Friday and I have no way to fix this on my own. Thank you in advance.
Hello,
I am affected by the issue as well, since 2.6.3.
I have a physical SIM in my Fairphone on ‘Bouygues Telecom’ (France) which is working.
But I was stuck with one of my two eSIMs (‘Orange’ eSIM which was enabled before the update worked, but not the ‘Free’ one), couldn’t enable the other one, same error as reported above.
After a reboot, none of the eSIMs are working.
Given one of the eSIMS is a “pro” line… ahem.
I have pinged developers to assign an ETA to the issue.
Any news yet on the issue or an eta?
You can check the progress on gitlab
I’m sorry to ask a favor of you but could you let us know if the physical sim card from Mint works for you? I have a feeling that this esim issue is gonna take a while to fix and I’ve yet to hear back from Murena’s help desk.
Same issue here:
Model: FP4
/e/ OS version: 2.6.3-u-20241217455359-official-FP4
Build number: e_FP4-user 14 AP2A.240905.003 eng.root.20241217.053225
I must add, my eSIM continued working for days after I made the update to 2.6.3. It only failed when I tried to activate another eSIM. Now I cannot use any eSIM at all.
I am still able to use my physical SIM card, but deactivating it does not seem to have any effect on the eSIM situation.
I just got it in the mail yesterday - physical SIM works.
Thanks so much! I think I’ll just copy your solution. Looking forward to being able to use my phone outside my apt again lol
I don’t know if this can help in any ways but I have a Fairphone 4 and I’m using only the eSIM and my phone is still working after the upgrade to 2.6.3-u. I didn’t get any trouble with the eSIM.
I live in France and my carrier Orange.
Someone stated, as long as you already have one and don’t change anything (deactivating) it will continue to work.
Edit: I stand corrected
This was not the case for me. After the update, I could not place a phone call.
Well then it is no certain outcome with eSim there are different behaviours (as always in IT…)
Are you also on official?
I have the same problem.
When I tried to reactivate my esim after the holidays and the update to 2.6.3 it didn’t work.
I have 2 sims and the physical one works fine.
Still, I don’t have access to my professional number anymore, which is kind of a problem…
FP4, e/OS 2.6.3
I just discovered that in “Settings / About phone” there is - at least for me - a new entry called “EID (sim slot 2)”. Tapping that shows the EID and a QR code.
Since I’m about to reinstall /e/OS I figure getting into the same trouble many of you have (until the issue is fixed).
But what I couldn’t figure out is if that EID and QR code is of some help to transfer the eSIM to a new /e/OS device (or in my case same device but reinstalled /e/OS). Strangely, the QR code cannot be taken by a screenshot (picture shows neither the EID nor the QR code).
Does anyone know what’s the story about this entry “EID (sim slot 2)” and the QR code and if that might help somehow with the issue of this topic?
FP4 / 2.6.3-u / 1 activated physical SIM / 1 activated eSIM
There seems to be progress: FP4: Update EuiccGoogle (!68) · Merge requests · e / devices / android_device_fairphone_FP4 · GitLab
Is there any ETA on this or someone knows, how fast such stuff is usually solved?
I wonder if I should order a physical Sim card now (up to 1 week) or if its possibly fixed by that till than.
Same issue as others here. Several 2fa stuff not working. Gladly I only use SMS as 2fa for unimportant stuff. But still.
