Fairphone 5 Eos can't lock

Hi all,
Installed v3.0.4 A14 on a fp5 which says in the release notes that it has up to June security updates.

Before this I assume it had the latest version of fairphone fp5.vt28.c.042 which says in its release notes that it has up to June security updates.

Both release notes link to the same android June ASPL page

I have installed Eos using the cli installer, locked critical and then attempted to lock all (fastboot flashing lock). I have tried this without letting the phone boot between any of the steps.

When I attempt to lock all, I get the error about my phone not being trusted and then have to flash it all over again.

Assuming it is anti rollback that is causing this but have no idea why.

Anyone able to give insight into why this isn’t working?

Hi @haz welcome to the /e/ forum.

Is it to do with this ?

Please put the complete date of the security patch date in the release notes - #12 by aibd

On your /e/OS system please check

Settings > About phone > tap on Android version you should find the Android SPL which by many reports will be 01 June 2025.

Two important remarks from the documentation:

Did you try to lock the bootloader on a community build ?

Check the rollback index currently on your device this way only.

Yep it does seem to be 1/6/25. I’m assuming stock android is 5/6/25?

It is unfortunate that the installer does not give directions to save a screenshot of the Android SPL before one starts.

Okay I guess I will flash back to stock and wait for the next Eos update. Thanks for all your help. Really appreciate it <3

Yes it is much safer to check on stock android the rollback index than to “assume” it from another source. The risk is loosing 600€
