Hi good day!
I habe a unlocked fairphone 5 running eOS 3.3 official build, android 15, december 10 2025.
Every time I put the phone in the charger it reboots after some X ammount of time. Is this a known bug? Is it maybe because the phone is unlocked?
Also the power draw to the phone varies wildly between 0.1 and 15 watt. currently i’m at 80% battery and the phone is only charging at 6 watt.
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
Johan

I have seen a similar behavior when using a PD/QuickCharge device. I have no problem with a old charger. I see also reboots when using the camera app.

My problemen still presists. Am now charing my phone without any advanced PD protocols, and that makers the problem go away. My assumption ia that there is some bug in the handshake protocol in PD when a newer PD device tries to communicate with the FP which has an older PD standard which causes a kernel panic.

I have exactly the same issues, with the original charger and also two different chargers.
Additionally, my wife complains occassionally about high-frequent noise when the phone is charging, also with various chargers.
Any updates from anybody? I am currently on /e/OS 3.7.1
Yep I get this too.
I also think the PD thing could be the cause. It started happening after I bought some new Anker chargers. With older ones it doesn’t happen.
It was exactly 80% for me today too!
