Feature request AOSP keyboard enhancement

Hi everybody,

I would be very nice to have some addition feature in the AOSP default keyboard:

  • one extra line with number. This is important for password.
  • a long press button, where we can do simple copy/paste

I am not sure it is the rigth topic.

I use OpenBoard (from F-Droid) for a year now having an always open extra line for numbers and several more improvements like cursor placement by horizontal swiping over the space bar.

I have moved recently to AnySoftKeyboard (also open source) mainly for this precise reason, and it works fine too.

One feature that would be awesome, and I think it is very easy to implement.
Could the keyboard memorize the language of each conversation ? So we don’t have to switch all the time.
Sometimes I talk simultaneously to many persons with different languages and I always have to switch language.
Also am I the only one that find the keyboard dumb ? At least in french. It sometimes corrects words that exists to words that don’t exist. And it doesn’t seem to know very basic grammatical on conjugation rules. I feel like I’m loosing more time typing with the automatic correction.
