Feature request: Progress indicator for Files app

Hi,

I think the Files app needs sort of a progress indicator!

Due to the decision of Fairphone not to use modern USB 3 (.x) in the FP6, we are stuck with antique USB 2 despite the fact that the modern highres cameras produce large files. On one event I recorded about 9 GB of data.

Extracting with a PC took three quarters of an hour, and copying to a USB stick with the Files app can be even slower, depending on the stick. Unfortunately Files will to that in the background, i.e. the copy process continues to run for several minutes without visual clues. This lead to me re-starting the copy process, which ended up in lost of files with (1) and (2) markers of duplicate entries, which could be avoided if the process is displayed transparently to the user.

Swell would be a time estimate, but a simple “n files remaining” would also do.

Thanks

hman
