What I don’t really understand is, why the Q dev build wasn’t OTA updated to a Q stable build at any time whatsoever

Here’s a mention I found in the search …

Week 17 : 2021 : Development and Testing Updates

Ideally they should go to their respective Q builds. That would not be dev to stable change as both are made with different build keys. It will be Dev Oreo to Dev Q and stable Oreo to stable Q.

Perhaps @Manoj could explain this a bit more?
