Some more info… i’ve decided against updating away from this versions because of issues with the 2.1 release, but this version still has the random lockscreen/soft reboot issue. I’ve since concluded that when this happens, it always coincides with some form of app updates. Either just before or right after the phone randomly displays the Murena logo and asks for my pin, the phone is updating apps of some description, leading me to believe this is somehow connected.
Also, I will sometimes have random insanely high battery drain. Just today I charged to 100% around 11AM and lost 25% by 4PM… doing practically nothing with the phone (35min screen time, a phone call and some light browsing).
I would really appreciate an update that would bring some more stability to the phone before we focus on new features.
Since i habe problems with sideloading i installed the ZIP from the sd-Card after flashing the recovery with Heimdall.
Just wanted to say that this current Version works almost flawless with mich improved battery life and very smooth interface. Big thanks to everyone involved. Banking with securego plus works as well.
Still getting some crashes with the maps, but not as Bad as it was in different roms.
Do you still have your problem ? If so, do you have the /e/ default recovery ? It could be the source of the priblem, i couldn’t install an update before i switched to TWRP.
So if you silently retire cedric moto g5, it would be at least essential to keep the last working version, better last two working versions of the phone.
So the source of the complete build system for the e.foundation and the recovery so one can fork from there.
Also keeping the last (two) binaries of the e.foundation and recovery so one can update his old device to the last (maybe buggy) or version before (maybe better).
It is a pain, that people at xda developers etc use dropbox and other shit to ship ther vanish binaries.
Best is to put the stuff on public ftp. Universities may help.
Some universities are happy to host open source as they have special peering agreements where they need to provide data to the internet and not only downlad data.
So please send me a link for the data of cedric. I will host it on my ftp.
This is what I found on my disks. https://archive.org/download/cedric_stock_8.1
There have been newer versions that were lost because I used the update function of e.foundation, not knowing, that you silently delete the stuff.
Also this stock ROM is needed to install latest firmware to be able to run e.foundation.
Would be nice to get at least the latest binaries recovery and e.foundation to archive cedric properly.
