Upgrade worked well.
But, since this upgrade, one of my e-mail accounts stopped working on the phone, saying there is an authentication issue.
Indeed, the password of my main e-mail account has been modified (in my back) in Mail app.
My secondary account in Mail app has been untouched, and works well
None of these e-mail accounts are Murena accounts: they are from third-party mail providers (Infomaniak for both)
It’s probably related to this line of the changelog:
user’s password is now updated in Mail when the user updates it in Account Manager
I suppose it has used the password of the account that I use to synchronize other data (Calendar, Notes, Photos etc). In my case, it’s a self-hosted Nextcloud instance.
My guess is the change in v2.9 wrongly assumes that the nextcloud account is the same as the e-mail account. It’s certainly true when you use Murena cloud, but it can be wrong if your e-mail is not hosted at the same place as your Nextcloud (which is my case)
I’ve created a gitlab ticket for that: Mail password overwritten by Account manager password, even if they are different accounts (#8607) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab
This a very serious issue, as it will probably affect many people not using Murena cloud.
