Update slow at first with the loader unplugged. Plugging in the loader speeded up the update considerably.

Enabled here background synchronisation for Notes after the update.

Without further action both instances of Notes synchronised. Items that were on both devices appeared double with (2) appended (better err on the safe side) after synchronisation finished.

Deletion of no. 2 was correctly executed on both devices.

No problems noted on the devices after the updates finished.

Mailapp is totally broken and overwrites the password everytime again. So if using an own Nextcloud and a 3rd Party mailprovider no mail access is possible. The account manager overwrites the mailpassword with the Nextcloud password in the background over and over again. :anguished:
3rd party mailapps like thunderbird work.

Google Play Books app canā€™t be opened anaymore. It clises right after starting.

Clear chache and memory of apps tried, didnā€™t help.

Plesse release an update for mail problem soon without having to wait for 2.10 next month.

Doesnā€™t it normal behavior on a phone where bootloader is unlocked ?

Hi @RoosDev welcome to the /e/ forum.

This is very unusual. Perhaps best to check you are using the correct buttons; with the device powered off - hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power. Add to that ā€œfor an extended timeā€ in this case.

I notice that kebab e-2.9-t and e-2.9-a14 are available from /e/OS community kebab download; but I still can offer no explanation for this to happen.

Either USB debugging was not previously enabled or USB debugging can be disabled if the phone should Factory reset.

If you really cannot engage Fastboot mode it would seem as if you might need to follow something like this [Guide] How to use MSM tool.

Thanks to the community for a job well done.
Thereā€™s still a problem thatā€™s been there since the switch to Android T: the native camera appi canā€™t take videos: the image freezes and the recording generates an error. Itā€™s a shame to have to install another app for this.

The FP5 is freshly installed with /e/OS 2.9.

Webcal is not working. I get HTTP 404 with Google Calendar and HTTP 400 with Microsoft 365 Calendar. Iā€™ve tested on a different device (Oneplus 7 Pro Guacamole). It worked on 2.8, but not working in 2.9.

I can also confirm the password issue with the mail app. I have three devices with /e/OS right now and I have these two problems on the devices running 2.9 only.

Everything I use is working perfectly. UI is snappy and update time came in at about 25 minutes down from the nearly 50 minutes the last few updates took. My GS290 takes only minutes to update.

The battery drain on version 2.8 seemed quite fast so Iā€™ll see how v2.9 goes for me.

Iā€™m not affected maybe for that reason:

  • I use the build-in account manager only for the murena account
  • All other accounts are synchronized with the davx5 app

That could properly be a workaround for this issue.
