Feedback for v3.0.4

I am really sorry to see you frustrated. You are a longtime user. Hope things will work for you again in the near future.

And not uninstalled? Would sound easier to me than building my own /e/OS.

Pl can you share the list of apps. I believe MDM, Voice to text would be in this list. Can you share the others and I can pass on the list.

Thank you for the links!
At the moment I use the official builds with my murena FP4. Is it possible just to download and install the the community build?
If I downloaded the community build, would it be possible to download and switch back to the official build next month?

Hi /e/OS team!
Thank you for including the latest Android security patches into 3.0.4.
I think security is the main point for regular updates. New features are nice, but come after security.

Yes, but be aware that this will be a new install, wiping user data.

(At least when following official documentation.)

Update went smoothly. Everything seems to be working so far. Thank you!

Unfortunately any Samsung is not good choice for custom rom, as their implementation of IMS (VoLTE, VoWiFi) is proprietary, therefore no VoLTE and VoWiFi on Samsung.

Price is not favourable either. I have got Sone Xperia 1 III in same price I have paid for S10+ year prior. I have Sony Xperia 1 V. Both of them are fully working and I have installed Sony camera applications, so photographs are good. Photos from camera app from /e/OS aren’t good, telephoto is mostly useless, as you will get sharp image once in a week. I make a lot of pictures of my work on daily basis.

Sony is much better choice. Even battery is much bigger and with a bit of luck you may get battery in brand new condition. Samsung Galaxy S10 will have at best 85% condition. I have both Sony at 100% battery condition without replacing battery. Sound is much better too, especially while on calls.

Ok, thanks. Next time, I will better ask for recommendations.

The V (Android 15) community version became available for the Fairphone 3 (and FP4 and FP5) in the meantime (yesterday or today). I was able to upgrade from e-3.0.4-a14 to e-3.0.4-a15 through ADB sideload in the /e/ recovery, see Week 29, 2025: Development and Testing Updates - #2 by urs_lesse
I recommend to trust Manoj, not me.

UPDATE:
Only just noticed that there is a community build for the new FAIRPHONE :six: now as well

We are releasing A15 builds along with v3.0.4. No point waiting for v3.1 since we were done with the builds.

before: 3.0.1-a14-20250606498933-community-sunfish
then (via OTA): 3.0.4-a14-20250708507309-community-sunfish
now (dirty upgrade via “local update”): 3.0.4-a15-20250711508346-community-sunfish
not rooted

all well from what I see so far - Hats off to the devs!

minor issue:
for yet unknown reason the navigation bar layout cannot be inverted (but I can´t say if that already happened in 3.0.4-a14)

@piero ignoring microg and ant hal (comes from device vendor), those are aosp system facilities. Most of these make sense to me, ofc you can either rip things out in your own ROM build or give them no permission. For others it would mean no nfc payment at PoS, some fitness gadgets not working etc. emergency-info can be beneficial especially

Fairphone | FP3+ | FP3 | previously on e-3.0.4-a14-20250709507533-community-FP3 → now e-3.0.4-a15-20250713508366-community-FP3 | not rooted

Manual upgrade completed in less than 10 minutes.

What I did without issues since the upgrade:
:white_check_mark: one phone call (using bluetooth)
:white_check_mark: music playback through VLC
:white_check_mark: local public transport app

Minor flaws:
 It seems as if the Mobile Data button in quick settings has become very sensitive, it often shows me my mobile provider info when I only wanted to activate/deactivate mobile data
 Gesture navigation: The Navigation hint is shown permanently, regardless of setting

Navigation hint shown permanently
