Feedback for v3.2

Hey @jarastartalek

It is not important for me if I have 48 MP. :slightly_smiling_face:

for me it is important that the camera and video works and in my opinion makes great pictures and videos in full 4k.

I am very happy with the quality.

everyone has different priorities

  • Vendor Name: Fairphone
  • Device name: The Fairphone (Gen 6.)
  • Device CodeName: FP6
  • Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously a15-3.1.4-community
  • Is the device Rooted / Not rooted: Not rooted

First impression I have is, the OS uses 32 GB of storage

tbc

I’m still on 3.1.4 on FP6, and it also shows 32 GB of storage for Android 15

im on FP6 Official 3.1.4-Official but my updater says ā€œno new updates foundā€. Manual refresh doesn’t work. Do I have to do something different this time to get the update?

Vendor XIAOMI

Device REDMI K60

Device MONDRIAN

Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously 3.2 BETA 2

Is the device Rooted / Not rooted NOT ROOTED

*My model is 23013RK75C (K60) previously flashed with global rom, and not 23013PC75G (POCO F5 PRO)

Everything seems to be working fine, and thanks for your work!

(Side notes)
I think I messed up the partition for whatever (likely due to constant use of outdated version of TWRP).
I had to use TWRP since before though this time, I could not update either from OTA, E recovery or TWRP.
-OTA would just stop with error (no detail given)
-E recovery would give error such as ā€œError applying update: 7 (kInstallDeviceOpenError)ā€
-TWRP would ask me to switch slot A to B, and usually switching to B would make it work, except for this time, no veil (it just froze and restart TWRP).
So I searched around and tried ā€œfastboot wipe-super super_empty.imgā€ - seems to have done the job.
Now I can adb sideload from E recovery no problem that I could update from beta 2 to this version; and I guess I should be able to use OTA next time.

*Just my side rant about searching for solution through searches -
Since search engines have become sh**t, took a long time to find this solution.
About this specific error, common suggestion would be switching USB port, cable, reboot or some crap, but it did nothing.
Also I tried flashing recovery into both slot A & B, ending up almost bricking my phone.

so far official 3.2 is not released yet, you need to wait a few days

Are you sure? Quote from the releases page: ā€œWe are proud to deliver /e/OS version 3.2 for all supported devices, whether they are on an Official or Community build.
Enjoy all the new features and improvements it embeds!ā€

Yeah, the release itself (software finished) is there, but not all builds yet. It’s a staggered release, so that they are able to catch some last-minute regressions.

You can check here if you wanna have it as fast as possible, after seeing it here, when you try to update via updater, smash that refresh button more than 5 times.

Update failed with a file not found error at recovery stage but I didn’t capture it - is this accessible from the OS?

I tried twice with the same result and it’s now not available to download again.

I’m struggling to retrieve the log over adb so this is a picture of the error:

Please try Clear storage (not just cache alone) in the Updater app.

FYI: Updates for

  • FP3
  • FP4 and
  • FP5

are now available.

From the weekly 44 thread:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Location broken on FP3 fix coming with v3.3

So the location is broken on the FP3?

  • Vendor Name: Murena

  • Device name: Fairphone 5

  • Device CodeName: FP5

  • Version of /e/OS: e/OS-t-3.14-official

  • Is the device Not rooted

I got the OTA version upgrade to a15 with 3.2! Great!

The bug in the selection of mobile network has been corrected as well. (FP5 no selection of mobile network (#8356) Ā· Issues Ā· e / Backlog Ā· GitLab)

Everything seems to be working fine.

Big thanks to the team, great job!

Updated from 3.1-t to 3.2-t on FP3.

Does anyone know a way how to remove this permanent Advanced Privacy notification? The first question of my girl was ā€œWhat is this … advanced … thing? And why is it there?ā€

Under Settings | Notifications | App settings the switch for Advanced Privacy is grayed. Why???

Note: Such permanent informations are indeed completely useless and wasted space. I told this also the Molly guys and others. Nobody needs to know all the time that everything is normal, the user must be informed when something is not normal, especially when he or she must manually solve this problem.

If 100 app developers would get this idea to implement this in their 137 apps it would really be great.

I just got the 3.2 Update for FP6 (Haven’t installed it yet), so if you still don’t see it you can try refreshing on the updater about 5-10 times.

Ah, I’m a hero. You can

  • open the Notifications area so that you see the notification
  • tap on it and hold it, wait until it expands
  • then there’s a blue entry in the lower left corner: deactivate notifications
  • tap on it
  • confirm any questions

and it’s gone for ever …

Updated, three out of all four official builds now available for Fairphones:

Minor observation after my own 3.2 (community FP3) installation: The temporary screen orientation button had recently appeared on the (unexpected) other end of the screen. This seems to have been fixed with 3.2, the button now appears again where I am used to find it. :+1:

Got the OTA update but the download is really really slow, failed to download. Internet is fine otherwise. Quite odd, I know the updates are pushed out at intervals to stop server overload but seems to taking forever and havin to resume the download after a few minutes, for it to fail a few minutes later. Been about an hour and I’m only half way through lol
