This weekend, I have updated my Sony XA2 “pioneer” from 3.3-a15-20251211556482-community-pioneer (see Sony XA2 H4113 - next upgrade - #4 by sonyxa2 ) to
e-3.4-a15-20260115569564-community-pioneer
through the standard OTA update. In the end I could manage, but, during the installation:
- a screen appeared with 2 options: 1) try again 2) “Factory data reset”
- after 3 trials “try again” I had to resort to “Factory data reset” = it was not a simple update, but I had to reinstall and configure everything from scratch
I do not know if this is an issue with /e/OS 3.4 and my device (the OTA updates for the Gigaset GS290 e-3.4-s-20260114569182-official-GS290 = A12 and for the Samsung S5e “gts4lv” e-3.4-a15-20260116569565-community-gts4lv went on smoothly), but I think it would be annoying if that happens at every update ,given the fact the the Sony XA2 is my daily driver now …
Considering that:
- 3 weeks ago I upgraded to /e/OS 3.3-a15 (and erased all the previous content of the phone, see the thread above),
- during this weekend’s installation, I could read “Active slot: b” on the screen
I am wondering if the issue is linked to that, and therefore it will not occur again for /e/OS 3.5 …
