Vendor: Fairphone (from murena)
Name: Fairphone 6
Device Code Name: FP6
Previous Versions: Fresh Install on a new phone

I just installed on two FP6 the newest Version 3.6 with the command line and on both phones the touchscreen now doesn’t work anymore.
Never had this issue before, just recently installed the 3.5 Version without an issue

Any Idea why this happend?

Does the issue survive a reboot?

For possible urgent phone matters you could connect a mouse or keyboard/mouse combo to the USB port and navigate Android this way.

Everything is fine. Thanks

Reboots are only possible by removing the battery. Tried it, didn’t help to solve the issue.
It’s not urgent in the sense that the phone is/was not in use. Reinstalling the stock android should be possible but I wait with that for the moment for some more feedback.

Keeping the power button pressed for 15 - 20 seconds should force a reboot under all circumstances (except a broken power button).

All is well. Installation went very smoothly and took approximately 5 minutes. Many thanks to the team. Will wait patiently for the OTA for A16.

You know what, I did show my Fairphone to a friend and it turns out I inadvertently pressed “Fake geolocation” by mistake. That was my problem. Thanks, I had completely overlooked it!

Happy you have a solution. It’s possible to activated fake GPS and deactivate it for one or two apps, like banking ones for example.

So, nothing there about the android auto issues?

I have the same problem with FP4. I keep the volume at max and that is sufficient in quiet environments but not when there is a lot of background noise. The volume, when set to max, is noticeably lower than all other phones I’ve compared it to. No difference between 3.5 and 3.6.

Happy to report that I was able to download the 3.6 update within 30 minutes and only one stoppage of the download.

30 minutes with one stoppage instead of 3 days with dozens of stoppages. This I would call progress, although its sad to call it progress as it should be the usual situation.

Nonetheless, thank you for improving /e/OS updates!

No (major) problems encountered after the update. It again took a restart and/or some waiting time until favourite conversations were treated as such by Android, but this behaviour was the same during the last updates.

Hence, I am satisfied by this update. The download speed was also really good. Keep up the good work!

EDIT: The pre-installed ntfy works as expected. However, it seems that the subscriptions for /e/OS 3.5 are still kept after the update, which I consider a minor bug.

Sadly I can’t get AA to work again. Even deleted the connection on the car’s computer and on the FP5 and tried to set it up from scratch, but I always get the error 14

Veeery happy with fix since e/os 2.0:

Pending fix since e/os 2.0:

I was ok when advanced Privacy started using full battery on background by default as of 3.2 A15.

DON’T like Updater, APK preinstaller, AppLounge, Calendar, Parent Control, DyanmicSystemUpdates and CamWebService followimg the same path WITHOUT ability to disabled it
List is growng and will start taking ts toll on battery use.

This was not the case for these apps until 3.2 A15

Stock browser really fast.

Secure navigatins has been disabled by default and CANNOT be turned on. “This setting is enforced by browser”
