I do not know why it does not work with you but I have no problems with the fingerprint scanner.
And I solved the problem with the fingerprintscanner! So happy. I had to power off the device (not just a reboot of the phone) for a few seconds and start again. After that the fingerprintscan was working again.
UPDATE: this seems to happen after switching users. As others reported, this leads to frequent black screens on the second user, and the descirbed problem after switching back to the main user.
Fairphone 6, Update went quick and without issues, but for some reason, I canât download any apps from the store. If I manually install apps via apk, it is working and also the updating function is working, only direct app download is not possible

Yesterday I voted âno problemsâ. But I had.
It was that several apps did suddenly not work anymore.
The first one I noticed was Slideshow Wallpaper, my wallpaper changer, which forgot all itâs images and crashed always when I tried to add one again.
Then Foxy Droid, my F-Droid client, wasnât able to synchronize with the configured repos anymore, not a single one (I have about seven or eight). Whatever I tried, it ended always very soon in an error notification. Forgot then also all previously known apps and itâs own installations, so all lists have been completely empty. Note: the network connection was OK, browser, Molly and others did work well, Foxy Droid didnât.
Aurora didnât allow me to login at all. OK, this can happen. But not for two hours.
Fossify Phone was not able to make a call! Each call ended immediately. (The stock dialer app did successfully make a call to the same number some seconds later.)
Then I made a new reboot, I mean: a second one after the update. This solved most of these problems. Especially Foxy Droid did synchronize again and knew also the installations made previously. Also Fossify Phone does work again. Slideshow Wallpaper did still not work, so I replaced it now.
I have absolutely no idea about the reason for all this. I never had such behavior after an update.

As I have already written for version 3.6 community Feedback for v3.6 - #82 by VitTh (and also for 3.5, 3.4 and 3.3) the camera start and immediatly freezes and becomes unusable. It is evidently a software problem in /e/OS present since August 2025 and never solved.
Itâs not possible for me to insert photos in contacts, save button is invisible: if I select a contact, I edit it, I can choose the photo (i cannot take a picâŚ) but there is no OK button to confirm (and I donât see any way to confirm). This happens both by choosing the /e/ address book and the address book on my smartphone.
From the Camera app, if I tap on gallery, it doesnât open it, instead opens Magic Earth
It seems that errors are increasingâŚ
Should I open these reports on Report an issue or are these problems known and taken care of?
Users keep reporting about problems of all kind after updates, many of which get resolved after rebooting the device a second time. I myself had this issue several times aswell and posted about the 2nd reboot, but maybe there should be a central and more visible disclaimer about this?
