Fairphone | FP3+ | FP3 | previously on e-3.7.3-a15-20260511618658-community-FP3 | not rooted

Completed the upgrade to 4.0 on my Fairphone 3+ (local update, the update was not available yet in the Updater). The splash screen (“e” with bouncing ball) took significantly longer than usually (90+ seconds) after the obligatory reboot.

:cross_mark: App compatibility – I tried to install and set up AOK Mein Leben once again and it returned the same refusal message that I got in the past: “Unallowed operating system …”

:cross_mark: Minor flaw: I went through the wallpapers and found that many of the small preview thumbnails and the wallpaper that they are meant to represent do not match.

Example: When I tap the slightly darker green thumbnail in the bottom right corner of the first screenshot (circled red), the following preview (Vorschau, second screenshot) does not match my selection. I was eventually able to get the green wallpaper, but it was hidden behind a different thumbnail (so mismatch there, too). This is the case with many of these thumbnails.

Hi @urs_lesse pl can you create an issue around this in gitlab with some example for the team to understand and resolve it

FP4: I am still waiting for it, the system update in the settings still show V3.7 as actual OS.

As @aibd has said: Official devices (Murena purchased and other) do not recieve updates in the first half of the release cycle.

So please wait a few days

So far so good :grin: Congrats to the dev team.

My device was indicating that my 3.7 release was the last one, I have to manually download the 4.0 release and make a local update (the 3 dots button in systeme update).

2026/04/26 update : My google Pixel 8 shiba has been upgrated too (by mean of OTA that time) and everything is OK. Still on A15 :sleepy_face: , I was hoping A16. None of the official e-OS release are on A16, both are on A15, when can we expect the switch to A16?

Since updating to 3.7, the 5GHz wifi seems to be a bit deaf, and drops to the 2.4GHz SSID I have available.
Will monitor behaviour on V4.0

OK, I finally brought myself to sign up on Gitlab and reported the wallpaper issue – as well as another one (bluetooth device audio input broken on FP3+).

All smooth and fine but can confirm the minor issue with the wallpaper mismatch, plus I noticed that the thumbnail views for choosing photos or screenshots as wallpaper show the bottom row only partially. Not sure if this is new to 4.0 though. Will add this to the GitLab bug as an observation.

Thanks so much to the team and volunteers again, /e/OS is the best.

very strange : V4 (A15) release appeared on https://images.ecloud.global/stable/star2lte/ and it disappeared a few minutes later. :thinking:

Switched from community to official using adb sideload without any problem.

4.0-official is now available for the FAIRPHONE :three: as well (at least for local update), and it’s indeed Android 15 :+1:
