Fetching Data Very Slow

I’m finding that more often than not when using my FP6, most apps that fetch data are now slow and frequently don’t fetch at all, being stuck on a “loading” wheel - this happens with my podcast app, my email app, databases like Wikipedia or TVTropes, and most troublingly my Authenticator app. The only fix I’ve been able to find so far is restarting my phone, which will be a pain as a long-term solution.

A similar problem is videos - when accessing through Firefox, I find intermittently that videos will suddenly stop loading until I close all apps and start again.

I assume this is a problem with memory - what can I do to fix it?

I would not expect the effect to be as extreme as you describe but Clear cache can be a useful first step. For an OS in development this can be important for System apps too.

If the phone is “wasting energy” somewhere then study of Battery usage can pinpoint trouble. Compare especially in a typical time slot

  • View by apps vs
  • View by systems.

In your case you might look for any evidence of inappropriate mobile data switching (common) or mobile data vs Wi-Fi.
