Find my device - with location off

Hi, I was wondering whether the find my device function is meant to work while having location service toggled off (so whether the app can enable GPS by itself and then send location). When I try, I receive a “Find my location keeps stopping” popup error message and no response to the SMS from the other phone is generated.
If it is not implemented, maybe the documentation under “Limitations” could be updated including a sentence like “location service must be enabled and permissions granted”

Else there might be bug or misconfiguration from my side.

If location service is toggled on, everything works smoothly :slight_smile:

Hi, for me it works only when the localization service is activated too. But it is something that I activate only occasionally and just for the time I need it, so it will probably be off when I lost my phone.
Ideally the SMS with the secret code should activate the localization, but I don’t know whether it is possible.
