[New Fairphone 5 running /e/OS/ bought from Murena]
Settings > Display > Display size and text > change either Font size or Display size >
In Mail (default installed Mail client), this changes the size of the mail inbox list, but does not change the size of any individual email text. Changing these font size settings seems to work nicely in other apps, but not in Mail.
Am I going wrong here?
Thanks.

the mail client has its own font size settings too, for each part of an email. For the text-body there’s a slider being set to “100” as default. It works.
But yes, would be nice if the general font-scale is inherited from system-wide settings. Couldn’t find an issue in their issuetracker but I’m sure it came up before.
Tremendous! That is so very helpful. I’m sorry not to have seen this . . . I just assumed the system-wide options would apply. However, this degree of fine-grained font size control over the various elements of an email is truly superb.
I had a look at the current thunderbird-android beta (k9mail rebrand) and they continue to do this. I would err on the naive user side and inherit scale for the text-body part too. Atm it stays at the absolute factor… I guess I’d file a bug/feature-request with thunderbird-android? at some point /e/OS will upgrade the upstream fork
