FP3+ - Very frequent and unexpected reboots

Hello,

It’s my first message on this forum, I hope I put it at the right place.

I have since last week an issue with my Fairphone 3+: it reboots very frequently, sometimes after 5 minutes of use, or 3 minutes, or while entering the PIN code, or even before I reach the “PIN code” screen. I didn’t update the OS just before it occured. It occurs wherever I am, connected or not to Wifi.
I bought it on Murena 3,5 years ago, originally installed with /e/os, that I kept all time long.
I found several topics on this forum or on the Fairphone forum, so I tried several solutions but nothing worked and the issue still occurs.
I have a single SIM card, no SD. OS is /e/OS 2.4.1.
The solutions I’ve tried are :

  • use in flight mode
  • remove all apps from the phone
  • remove SIM card → I started the phone with and without SIM card
  • reboot in safe mode
  • update to /e/OS 2.6
  • reinstall /e/OS with the easy installer app

The problem remains after each of these actions.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? Do you need more information about my phone?

Perhaps battery…or hardware contact issues…or something else not user serviceable ;- )

My immediate recommendation is that you backup all important data as long as this is still possible – NOW. You can never rule out a “sudden death” of your internal storage – if that happens, it will be too late to save your data.

I managed to do it 2 days ago, before re-installing the OS from the easy installer that erased all the data.
