I have just read that fairphone has updated the FP4 camera substantially: here

Will it be possible to benefit from this update on eOS?

The team is looking at offering the FP4 camera app in /e/OS. There are issues we will first need to address like licensing. We cannot simply copy and paste any code from any vendor even partners.

So in fact now I realise it’s related to the camera software, not the os… And I must admit open cam is doing a nice job already!

I think /e/OS v2.2 contains a nice present for the Fairphone 4 :wink:

  • You’ll now be able to enjoy Fairphone’s default camera app to take pictures if you want to, you just need to enable one setting and reboot your phone. Warning though, for now the video mode does not work, it’ll be fixed in a next release.
