Good morning. I just installed /e/ yesterday on my FP4 via the command line process and everything worked fine. Since I did not lock the bootloader afterwards, I wanted to do that today. I the first attempt I was not fast enough to push the volume down button and the phone booted the OS, wiping my data. No problem, but after the re-up my phone is now stuck in the setup assistant. I am able to select language, time zone and activate Wi-Fi, but that’s it. It says “please wait” and is not proceeding.
Did I waste my phone, or is there a chance to get it running again?
That’s the manual I used. But I didn’t manage to lock on the first attempt, so I did the re-run you mention there. The SPL shouldn’t be the problem as it was June for the android version and July for /e/OS.
I didn’t take screenshots, if that’s what you mean, but I followed the steps in the guide. I got as far as ./fastboot flashing lock_critical but than missed to push the volume down, so it rebooted. Then I followed the next steps locking the bootloader. I just checked the bootloader and it says locked.
I just remembered, that I got as far as the workspace connection, I put in my mail and password and then it got stuck.
(This platform now always tells me, I reply to fast and have to wait for 40minutes, is it supposed to do that?)
Looks like it worked. Since I made no changes to the bootloader, it should remain locked, right? Going to check that later on. Thanks again for your support!
Hmmm, my experience shows that if you don’t lock the bootloader there will be certain e-banking apps that will not run. this is why i did immediately after the installation.
If you don’t need such app, it does not matter, of course.
