FP5 stucks in boatloader mode

Dear e-community

I received today my brand new FP5 and started with the installation described on “/e/OS Installer

After all 24 steps the web-installer page said the installation was completed.

But i could only start the e/os/ recovery mode (start was not possible)
After tried several things on the e/os/ recovery mode (wiped also all data at the end when nothing else helped) I am now in front of the brand new FP5 which is unusable.

I cannot mount it on windows (I’ve already installed all the optional drivers from the Microsoft Updater (MediaTek - Other hardware …)

I can now select all the option in the booatloader menu (“START”, “Restart bootloader”, “Recovery mode” “Power off”) i will always land on the same bootloader menu.

Can someone tell me what i can do to re-initiiate the installtion ?
The Web-installer doesn’t find the device
Device is not visible in Windows-Explorer.

Is there a way to save this device or is it now simple trash after all…?

I hope someone can help me out…

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

I have installed a couple devices manually and I have been trying to create a guide for /e/OS Installer and I have mixed luck with it.

Most important part is. Your device is fine, just not there yet.

From now you can’t really rely on the Installer, you need manual installation.

What kinda computer are you using?

Here are the “manual” instructions.

https://doc.e.foundation/devices/FP5/install

The installer will have done initial steps, the install itself is dome with a script which is delivered with the download so not too hard.

Please be sure to download the official version as this is what /e/OS Installer will have started with.

Please note the anti rollback hazard mentioned on the install page.

Guys first of all thanks you so much for your input! <3
Happy to know to get help here if needed, will try to help also people in trouble :)!

I just came from the gym to get rid of the bad feeling i had.
On the stepper i was reading about the installation with the “Easy Installer”
I’ve downloaded the original Android 14 from the fairphone support side:

Manually install Android OS on your Fairphone – Support

And executed the bat-file (didn’t know how this bat-file can find and map the phone as i couldn’t neighter find it in the Computer → Manage !!

Now Android 14 is installed and i can re-try the /e/os installation.

uff… what a day… though i can put it on the trash… and was disappointed of myself…

Wish you all the best

Br,
Alessandro

I re-tried it to install it with the web-installer and it worked now!
this made my day… <3
