FP6 Bluetooth connection issues

New to murena e/os this week and having problems connecting to bluetooth with certain devices.

Bluetooth is working for my Suunto vertical watch and Polar heartrate monitor.

Bluetooth is not recognizing Suunto sonic headphones, DS No.4 (vehicle) audio system, or Sony SB100. To add to frustration, Bluetooth is recognizing devices from neighbors homes.

Anyone else having these issues? Any troubleshooting advice?

Thanks!

What phone are you using with eOS?

Are the devices in their respective pairing mods when you try to add them?

I know I have an Android TV box remote app that you have to pair the device through the app and not the phones BT interface.

That’s typical. My headphones need also several (3…8) connection attempts, while my device knows them, they have been paired long time ago. And then, when the connection is indeed established, it’s not very stable. Can be that it breaks after some seconds and you must connect again.

Think you can’t do much. This has been the case since I’m on /e/ (since 0.9). In my case it got a bit better after a firmware update on the headphones.

I’m using the Fairphone 6.

Each device has a button or a connect mode and I’ve tried several times through the bluetooth settings AND through specific . The phone at least recognizes the car and appears to connect, but there’s no signal transmission.

The Suunto sonic and sony speaker are not even showing up as devices in range. However, I 2 of each of these devices (the second sony xb100 for listening in stereo, the second suunto sonic is my wife’s) and I am able to connect one of the two - the other is still unrecognizable. This makes me think it is simply glitchy and I need to wait for updates before trying again.

I am having the same issue with my isotunes pro 3. other phones that are even older than this one can connect to them and I can connect to other devices like my car and older isotunes on the FP6 but not this new headset. These new headsets run bluetooth 5.4 with LE. I am running e/os 4.0 and the previous update didn’t run these either.

Hi @slaphappysam please check through the threads mentioned in Post#5.

These specifics may fit with Gitlab issues mentioned there … where (also) adding your findings as Report an issue may be useful.

For instace is yours same or different compared

Alternatively the Gitlab work items fp6 + bluetooth include

Or, include closed

I don’t know if this will help others, but it fixed my issue with my headset. In the developer options of the phone, I disabled “Bypass Bluetooth LE Audio Allowlist” that made it so that my headset was finally able to connect.
