I recently purchased a fairphone 6 with murena preinstalled. I’m currently trying to activate my esim with a second carrier because my old carrier, whose physical sim I have in the phone, does not support wifi calling on fairphone.
When I go to “About Phone” sim slot 2 is visible but the text is grey instead of white and underneath it says “Not Available”. I believe this is a murena issue rather than an issue with my other carrier because it happens regardless of whether sim slot 1 is activated. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I am assuming you purchased the phone from the Murena shop. As a customer you should submit the query using the Contact Us form at this link https://murena.com/contact-us/ if not already done. The team would be able to help you further.
I purchased the phone from SatComShop, who say they are a Murena partner and official /e/OS reseller. I have reached out to then but no response yet.
I understand that I need to donate or get a paid subscription to get help via murena. If I subscribe to the patreon does that count? I have been unable to login to murena workspace as it won’t accept my email, so I’m unable to subscribe, and donating directly via bank numbers is a little intimidating to me.
I confirm that eSim is working well on Murena Fairphone6.
From what you are saying, you are looking in the wrong menu. Do not go in About the Telephone, but instead in Network and internet →Sim cards →add a sim card
Pl check if the suggestion from @GabrielT works. You can still write in to our helpdesk and mention that SatComShop say they are a partner of Murena. The team should be able to guide you further.
Yes, I should’ve mentioned that I’ve tried that as well, but there’s no option for that showing on my settings as you can see here. The only place that even indicates the presence of the second sim is the menu where it is greyed out that I previously mentioned. Thank you!
Thank you for your insight. That may be true. They are responding now and seem to think that the issue is on T-mobile’s end, so I’m pushing back against that and we will see what they say next.
I checked those two things you mentioned and they are both turned off. My phone is totally updated. The number is: 4.3-a16-20260917677552-official-FP6.
This is probably what it will come to. I don’t have a computer with me for the next month, so I think I’ll wait for murena to respond to my query. I have not been able to set up murena backup because they keep telling me my email is invalid when I try to sign in. Thanks much!
For future reference of other folks, I contacted murena and this is what fixed the issue:
Reset Network settings
go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset Options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. Click Reset settings.
I’d still love to find a workaround for the whitelist that blocks wifi calling on at&t, but for now I’ll get a second t-mobile sim which should restore the wifi calling option to settings. Thanks all!
Hello /e/OS community: I have the FP6+ and was wondering if there’s any difference between the FP6 and the FP6+ when it comes to eSIMs. My carrier offers an eSIM option for the FP6, but not for the FP6+. Would it work? I’d appreciate your thoughts.
