everything i need to know? or at least, is the right starting point? I guess my question is basically should I back up in the murena cloud the old phone and restore the new one from it or there is a better procedure?
I have a vary vague recollection of having read in the forum that using a password manager other than the Murena’s cloud one can potentially create a conflict with the backup procedure. Is this accurate, or am I grossly mixing up my memories? i have keepass in use synced via nextcloud
I did test the new backup to Murena cloud; it worked for me. As said by the linked documentation it does require the new password system.
Being aware of this I spent time to deal with my existing password management (including deleting some “old stuff”) and successfully passed into the required password to allow backup to proceed.
My backup strategy uses several methods but maybe this will be a convenient way to restore “some things”.
Seedvault in a previous environment drew my attention to apps not supported by backup. Murena cloud backup did not do this. Check the documentation.
I may be very dumb, but i am already stuck on the “set up backup” step of the guide,
I launched the backup app
i was asked to log in the cloud - which i did in the desktop web interface
and then …. nix
when the app in the phone tries to fetch the encryption key it doesńt find it.. No wander, when i open the password app on the web, there is nothing….
I am stuck in this page,
i ll be grateful for any hint!
that was my error? … i did the log in in the pc… (well the display is broken and barely readebale), I assumed i had to activate the cloud’s password app… (wich i never did before as i have a different password manager)
Loosely speaking the phone backup wants to be associated with the confirmed phone password (isn’t it?) .
not sure to understand. it asked my cloud password, not the phone’s one…
I do not see a way to start over…do you see a way to do create again the encryption key?
After a Power down (and preferably an overnight detached from the cloud would be my preference) when you open Backup are you able to accurately establish your Backup status without trying to do anything?
Quote from above
if Passwords isn’t reachable (locked out, or its encryption not set up), Backup cannot proceed.
Seems that Backup was not expected to proceed without Password encryption established.
