Galaxy S7 new installation with easyinstaller on MacOS stuck at download step

Hi,

I wanted to report that I tried to install /e/OS on a Galaxy S7 with easy installer on a mac but got stuck at download step.

My config:

  • Device model: SM-G930F
  • Mac easy-installer: v0.15.0
  • MacBook Pro Retina, 13’, mid-2014
  • MacOS: 10.14.6

Not a problem on the server’s side:

Reported message by Easyinstaller:

  • “Downloading recovery-e-latest-q-herolte.img.sha256sum” Download error

logs:

  • /tmp/easy-installer directory doesn’t exist…
  • EasyInstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/bin doesn’t contain any log file

I finally installed /e/OS on my device with Easyinstaller on linux Ubuntu 22.04.

Hey there,

just created this account to share my solution regarding this issue.

Please move the .app to the Programmes folder on your Mac. MacOS restricts apps residing in the Downloads folder.
I’m tagging @Ingo_FP_Angel because it looks like he has been involved in some threads which similar questions.
