Gallery clingons

Hi all.
I have a fairphone 4 with the latest e.OS and all updates installed.
I’m a sculpture so i snap a lot and download a lot of images whilst working on ideas / pieces and then delete them when the piece is finished, this hasn’t happened before.

My gallery app is showing photos from my downloaded file section even though there is nothing in that file.
It (the app) will not delete them from the gallery page, (it says it is, then continues to display them). They have been deleted from the web version of Murena and I have factory reset my phone and they still show up. This fault / error has been showing up for 5 days now.
Any thoughts?

Empty pictures?

I had empty pictures (from the camera) in the stock gallery app years ago, this was on 0.10 or so. The pictures appeared in the list but did never have any content. Should this still be the case? Indeed this was the reason why I use another gallery app since then. Try Aves (in the IzzyOnDoid-repo).

The factory reset should have taken care of the files on the phone, so perhaps this is a sync issue with the Murena cloud?
I don’t use it, so I don’t know … perhaps there’s a way to reinitialise it (where it would actually have a look which files really exist currently)?

(Did anyone else first misread “Gallery klingons”? }}:-< }}:-< }}:-< )

do you have a sdcard? only makes sense for them to survive if they weren’t in userdata or back-synced from cloud

Can you tell whether these are Pictures or .thumbnails ?
Have you allowed “Show hidden files”? Hidden files .thumbnails can survive rm -rf*

Same might happen with any .trashed-filename.img

Another thought I would try

Settings > Apps and notifications > See all … apps > Gallery > Storage & cache > Clear storage

Thank uou all for your help . . .
The solution was found by a 14 yr old neighbour of mine . . . it was a back up folder on my sd card.
;-/ life eh?
Thanks again all.
